About Kevin

"What if a single painting could evoke the deepest memories of your life?"

I’ve had a pencil in hand for as long as I can remember.

Growing up in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, drawing was my first language; a way of understanding the world and connecting with the people and places around me. That early spark led me to study at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where I earned my BFA and began a lifelong journey as a visual storyteller.

My career has taken many forms: I spent over 25 years as an art teacher, guiding elementary and middle school students in public schools while continuing to work as a freelance artist. Teaching taught me patience, flexibility, and how to connect art to joy, humor, and meaning—lessons I carry into every project today.

I lived in Maine for two decades, and the natural beauty there, the jagged coastline, dense forests, and moody skies, deeply shaped my creative voice. I found myself increasingly drawn to "en plein air" painting, setting up my easel outdoors and learning directly from the landscapes that surrounded me. I continue to be inspired by places that stir something deep, whether it’s the Atlantic coast or the emerald hills of Ireland, a country that’s part of my heritage and close to my heart.

While I’m known for landscapes, my work is as varied as the people I create for. I love to blend the sentimental with the playful, capturing not just a scene, but the spirit of a moment. My art often carries a wink of humor or a personal touch that makes it truly one-of-a-kind. I’ve illustrated books, designed beer labels, built my own studio, and created countless commissioned works that reflect the stories and personalities of my clients.

Today, I live and work in a hand-built studio, nestled in the woods, part mountain man, part Irish storyteller. I collect vinyl records, play music, and love live performances, creative energy in any form fuels my own.

At the heart of it all is collaboration. I enjoy working closely with clients—reviewing reference photos, exploring composition and size, choosing the right medium together. Whether it’s a cartoon that makes you laugh, a painting of a beloved place, or a gift with personal meaning, my goal is always to create something that resonates.

In a world full of digital shortcuts and disposable design, I offer something different: handcrafted, thoughtful, and original artwork that feels alive.

Let’s make something meaningful together.
